I first heard about 24PetWatch from my neighbours (who have a dog as well), and since it is a very inexpensive program, we decided to microchip Sparrow. We wanted to protect our newly adopted pet as well as give ourselves peace-of-mind. One evening after work, I was walking Sparrow and my neighbours' dog in the park. Sparrow was off her leash to play with the other dog when suddenly another big dog ran towards us. When Sparrow saw the big dog she got scared and ran away from my side. I called her but she was too scared and ran off very fast. Immediately, I notified my neighbours and we all went looking for her but had no luck finding her. After two hours of searching, it started getting cold outside. Eventually, I went in the house and the phone rang. It was 24PetWatch. They found my little, brown Italian Greyhound. Apparently, a couple found her wandering and brought her to the closest animal hospital. I was so happy I think I thanked that 24PetWatch representative about a hundred times! When our microchipping renewal notices came in for our three dogs, the 24PetWatch Microchip Identification Program brochure was inside. After reading the brochure and researching all of our options, we decided to register our previously microchipped dogs with 24PetWatch. And it's a good thing we did! Our two Jack Russell Terriers, Cam (four-years-old) and Jericho (three-years-old), have boundless energy and are very clever. Somehow during the week when we were all at work, those two rebels managed to sneak out of our fenced-in back yard during the day. Imagine my surprise when the local humane society called me at work and told me that my two dogs had been found socializing with a construction crew near a new development! Luckily, Cam and Jericho were both found unscathed and I was glad someone had picked them up to take them to safety. Because the 24PetWatch system was efficient and quick, our dogs were lost, found and we were contacted even before we knew they went missing! I got a call at work saying that my dog was found wandering the neighbourhood. I thought "that's funny, I locked the door and set the alarm before I went to work". The lady on the other end at animal control said that Darby was fine but it appears that my house was broken into as my front door is wide open. After adopting Freedom from our local shelter, we were informed that she was microchipped with 24PetWatch. At just nine months old, Freedom is a beautiful German Shepard-mix with a heart of gold. Unfortunately on the first night she came home with us, she got confused and ran out through the front gates. Something must have spooked her while she was playing with our boys and she just took off. After missing for three weeks, we had all but given up on ever finding our new, special dog. One day, we received a call from our humane society that Freedom was at last found! Aside from being really hungry, Freedom was virtually unharmed. Apparently she was found wandering near the airport many miles away. The fellow who found her checked the information on her collar, read that Freedom was microchipped, and took her to a local shelter. The 24PetWatch Microchip Identification Program saved Freedom's life. Without it, she could've been lost for good or put back into the system without anyone knowing she had a family that cares for her. “My cat Obie went missing shortly after our family moved into our new house. We put up posters and checked the shelter for him numerous times. My young children were absolutely devastated when we could not find him anywhere! Long after his disappearance my daughter would ask where Obie was and I had to tell her that he may be in cat heaven, or perhaps that he had been taken in by another loving family. I feared the worst since we live near some very busy roads. I never expected that 2 ½ years after Obie disappeared that I would receive a phone call to tell me that he had been recovered! Hello 24Petwatch, I recently had my house broken into, and among other things, my digital camera was stolen. A couple of weeks later I received a call from the police saying that they had recovered my camera from a pawn shop. They were able to track it back to me because there was a photo of my cat Barney, which displayed the yellow 24petwatch tag. The police were able to blow up the picture of the tag, identify some of the digits in the id numbers, and called 24Petwatch and were able to match it back to me. Thank you 24Petwatch for assisting the police in their detective work. The perpetrator has been identified because of this detective work. I think Barney is the real hero.
